Description
This is an evocative British military pocket watch, marked GSTP XX 113951 and engraved Bravingtons, a well-known London retailer and supplier during the Second World War. The GSTP (General Service Trade Pattern) watch was issued to the British Army and features a robust case and clear black dial, made for practicality and reliability in the field. The classic design includes luminous Arabic numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, and bold luminous hands—one of which retains some signs of its original luminous material. The 15-jewel Swiss movement is stem-wound and lever-set, visible through a screw-back case. With a sturdy nickel-plated case measuring approx. 51.9mm in diameter and 15mm thick, this is a fine example of a true military instrument built for service. While the watch remains in running order and keeps good time, collectors will appreciate both its historical significance and functional integrity. Supplied in a Bowles Ltd. gift box, this timepiece is ready for gifting or display.Maker History
