A charming antique sterling silver fob medal, hallmarked for Birmingham in 1930 and made by James Walter Tiptaft & Son Ltd. The medal features attractive scroll decoration with a central shield engraved “1931” to the front. The reverse is clearly engraved “O. Gledhill – Swimming”, giving the piece a personal sporting history.
A nice example of an early 20th-century sporting fob, well suited to collectors of antique silver, swimming memorabilia, or named sporting awards.
