Antique Silver Cased Stauffer Pocket Watch – Working – W.W. Nichols, Croydon – c.1880s
A fine antique silver-cased pocket watch retailed by W.W. Nichols, High Street, Croydon, with movement and case by the respected maker Stauffer, Son & Co. The case is stamped Fine Silver and features attractive guilloché engine turning with vacant cartouche. The inner dust cover is engraved W.W. Nichols, High St., Croydon.
The key-wound movement is marked Stauffer, Chaux De Fonds, and the watch is in working condition. As with all antique watches we do recommend a service to ensure reliability. Stauffer supplied quality Swiss movements to the UK market during the late 19th century and retailed through many jewellers, including W.W. Nichols.
