The clock winds and ticks along nicely, I haven’t checked the accuracy.
It's an impressive bit of engineering inside, I’m not sure how the mechanism is supposed to be used, but it all seems to be in good working order. Turning the outer handle triggers the internal printing mechanism and turns the large wheel which I think is for holding the pigeon tags or messages. One small message container is included.
The ink ribbon has started to perish, no real surprise given its age.
The case and glass are marked with serial number 13098.
In lovely antique condition. Please note: the internal mechanism could do with a clean, the ink ribbon will need replacing if you want it to print and you’ll need to find an appropriate size reel of paper.
