Description
A handsome and stylish Art Deco desk clock dating to 1929, featuring a Britannia silver mounted rectangular case with a striking cream dial and bold turquoise Arabic numerals. The silver frame is hallmarked for London 1929 and bears the maker's mark of B.M.C. Ltd. (British Metallising Company Ltd.).
The clock is fitted with a Swiss-made 8-day movement and retains its original folding easel stand to the rear. The combination of the geometric Art Deco design, silver-mounted case and decorative blued hands creates an attractive period piece that displays beautifully on a desk, mantelpiece or sideboard.
The movement winds, sets and runs well, keeping good time during testing. The clock remains in pleasing unrestored condition, showing honest age and wear consistent with nearly a century of use.
