A beautiful set of 4 scallop shell salts, with original box. Estimated to be made in the late 19th century.
Sadly there are no visible makers marks or stamps, so exactly who made them, where, when and from what are unknown. I suspect they are silver plated due to absence of hallmarks, if they are the plate is in remarkably good condition with only a couple of spots of tarnish in the bottom of bowls. A stunning display piece.
Each measures 55mm x 56mm x 35mm.
Salts in excellent antique condition, the exterior of the box has damage/wear. Please see photographs.
